Are you familiar with the psychological term borderline personality disorder (BPD)? People with BPD often have an intense fear of abandonment and instability. As a result, they have trouble managing emotions, have high distress levels, are easily offended, and may act impulsively. How would you identify this in a person? How is it different from the more standard but manageable fear of instability, abandonment and loneliness many of us already have?
David is a chief psychological counsellor, and he deals with BPD in many of his clients regularly. Is this something we're born with? Or could it caused by trauma? Or even by an environment we spend a lot of time in? In this club, we'd like to go really deep into BPD and the general fear of abandonment, loneliness and instability that seems to be on the rise these days.
